Today is colour palette video day :)
Making studies from the Masters are very common among artists so I thought it would be nice to pick a colour palette inspired by the work of a Master.
I chose The Open Window painting by Henri Matisse and tried to catch some of the colours I see in the painting, of course the colours are not accurate but some are pretty close in my opinion. It was a fun exercise and I loved the colour palette.
Step by step in text:
- Choose an artwork from a Master;
- Try to capture colours from that artwork to create a colour palette;
- Test your colour palette :) make adjustments to the colour palette according with your gut and style, make it unique!
I also tried to use all the colours in one sketch, in the prompt Gnome 😅 ended not being the best sketch and I really overworked the background. The colour palette deserves another try 😊
Have you tried this?
See you soon,
Teresa
