Hello Good People,
2024 is ending, which sounds a relief - according with my mother all leap years are bad for our family! - Does it sound it was a shit year around here? It was! 💩 always wanted to send this emoji, please don’t feel offended.
This was one of the most difficult years in terms of pain (and unfortunately pain and I are close friends for a long time now!) but if you know a little about me, you know that I always prefer to focus on the good things. It’s not about turning the world pink, it’s about giving importance to the most ordinary things of life, because the simple things are usually the most valuable and we tend to forget that!
So here are some highlights of 2024:
- We adopted Guache, the black cat.
- I stayed creative despite the all the pain.
- Started my YouTube journey, and I’m loving it!
- I’ve made an art collaboration with
, my easy way to make a sketchbook without glue or stitching is available for The Sketchbook Games paid subscribers.- Opened my Ko-fi shop.
- Met new art friends online, a big shoutout to
she has been the friend that I don’t knew I needed.- Completed the 262 ArT Days project * this was an year art daily challenge I created for paid subscribers * I will stop the paid membership option from now on, it was a experience I enjoyed and THANK YOU for everyone who joined for the all year or only 1 month 💛 but this is not the path I want to pursue. From 2025 on this project will be available for anyone who needs inspiration.
Talking about challenges, if you have been here for a moment you know it’s my weak spot 😬 guess what? I created a new challenge for 2025!!!
Inspired by the 101 things in 1001 days (which I am tempted to start again!) and by my friend
’s husband who makes a goal for each week of the year, I decided to create my own challenge: 52 Creative Things in 52 weeks. If you would like, you can download the list here (English) or here (Spanish).
The ‘things’ are very art related, but I added some generic ones because we artists often forget how important is to take breaks and to do other things (that don’t include art!). I made this challenge for me, but everyone is welcome to join and feel free to change some of the ‘things’ which may not make any sense to you.
Initially I was going to pick the ‘things’ every week randomly, but decided that I will take everything easy in 2025, so I will pick them according to what life permits.
Only ‘rule’ is to complete 1 thing each week of the year.
I am super excited for this!
In a more deeper side, I’m structuring next year through seasons, thank you
for the idea, will share more about my personal focus for each season in following posts through the year.Explore. Create without any goal. To Grow* , these are my art wishes for 2025.
*I want to growth not in numbers, but as a person that is finding herself through art.
In scale of 1 to 10 how excited for 2025 are you? And if you have a word for the new year please do share, I am curious to know!
Thank you for following my art journey 💛 your support always make me smile 😊
Wishing a creative and amazing 2025 for all of us. Don’t forget: Trust your wonky lines, always!
